Donald Michael Gedeon

Donald Michael Gedeon, born on January 29, 1931 in Cleveland Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on a beautiful Tuesday evening, August 18, 2020 in Morgantown, WV. He was 89. Don loved his family, road trips shortcuts!, popcorn, musical theater, and baseball. He also loved the Cleveland Browns; he was one of the original fans who attended the inaugural game at Cleveland Municipal Stadium in 1946! He is a graduate of St. Ignatius High School Cleveland, OH, and Cleveland State University Class of 1956, where he studied accounting. A runner as well, he ran in several marathons, with his most memorable being the New York City Marathon when he was in his 50s. He also enjoyed the adventures of many travels; with the help of his granddaughter, he even managed to pull off a solo trip to London last year with such stealth that he surprised his own daughter. Don shared his love for organizing and grammar with his family, and he shared his love of accounting with students he tutored in his leisure time. Don married his beloved wife, Mary "Dolly" Schnabel of St Joseph, MO in 1953. They had four children and were happily married until her death in 1991. In 1996 he wed his new love, Hope Davis of Atlanta, GA. Both previously widowed, they enjoyed traveling together until her death in 2013.
